On My Radar: YSL Fall 2017

Robert Dmitri Saint Laurent Fall Autumn 2017.jpg

This collection is extremely relevant to what is currently taking place in mens fashion. I appreciate how effortlessly Anthony Vaccarello (current creative director at YSL) and his design team integrated the current street style trends into the collection while still maintaining the integrity of the brands core Parisian aesthetic.

Below I’ve featured some of my top picks from the new collection.

Robert Dmitri Saint Laurent Fall 2017 Teddy Jacket.jpg

Teddy Multi Patch Jacket

ย I love how this jacket is structured like a varsity letterman jacket. At first glance it looks very much like a military inspired piece due to the olive green color and brass buttons. The patches also bring an interesting element to the garment. Overall a fresh look on an old classic.

“Je T’aime” Teddy Jacket

There is something very endearing about this jacket. From the 1960’s ivy league feel to the embroidered “Je t’aime” this jacket captures those feels of being young and in love.

Multi Patch Motorcycle Jacket

This is single handedly my absolute favorite piece in the entire collection. I literally love everything about it. From the distressed look of the leather to the strategically placed patches, this biker jacket is an incredibly fresh and fun twist on such an iconic staple.

Military Parka

The overall theme in this collection is the transformation of classic timeless pieces into something youthful and modern. This military parka is no different. If this jacket was made in an olive green color it would read too authentic to it’s military inspiration. The fact that it was done in black makes the jacket much more polished and slick.

City Backpack

Backpacks have made a massive comeback in higher end fashion so I’m glad to see that YSL included their own interpretation for this collection.

My Closet: Golden Goose Low Tops

GGDB_Golden_Goose-California_Robert_Dmitri_Mens_Luxury_Shoes.jpgBrand: GGDB

Style Name: California

Color: Black

Country of Origin: Italy

Purchased From: SSENSE

These shoes are pretty darn rad. They are a fun off duty pair of shoes that are ideal to wear during the warmer months. The shoes themselves are made out of suede. The suede is pretty substantial and doesn’t feel like it’s going to be stretching out (too much) or loosing it’s original shape. My Closet | Christian Louboutin Espadrilles

Robert Dmitri Christian Louboutin Espadrille Nanou Red 1

Brand: Christian Louboutin

Style Name: Nanou Flat Crosta

Color: Red

Country of Origin: Italy

Purchased From: MatchesFashion.com

Overview: ย ย

Espadrilles are a nice way to step up your shoe game especially during the warmer months. What initially caught my eye with these Christian Louboutins was the prominent yet regal patch located on the vamp of each shoe. Normally espadrilles (even in the luxury market) have the insoles made completely out of the natural woven jute.. Personally for me.. walking on the exposed jute is not always the most comfortable so the fact that these shoes have an actual leather insole is amazing. Lastly rest assured that in true Louboutin fashion the soles of these shoes bare the brands iconic red bottoms.

Casual Friday: Low Key Lake Days

RD Casual Friday Low Key Lake Days

As summer winds down layers are key.

  1. Hoodie – Gucci
  2. Tee Shirt – OAMC
  3. Swim Shorts – Missoni
  4. Slides – Givenchy
  5. Sunnies – Quay

Gucci | Hoodie

  • Red loopback cotton-jersey
  • Drawstring hood, black embroidery, ribbed trims
  • 100% cotton
  • Dry clean
  • Designer colour: Live Red
  • Made in Italy

Style Notes:

The overall theme of this hoodie is good luck.ย This piece comes from the Gucci 2017 Fall collection which is heavily inspired by the Asian culture. The vibrant red color as well as the embroidered dragon on the back side of the hoodie is said to bring good fortune and prosperity to the wearer.. which I’m definitely not mad about.. Not to mention the number 25 (XXV in Roman Numerals) is embroidered on the top of the hood which is Alessandro Michele’s lucky number.

OAMC | Tee Shirt

  • Black and white cotton-jersey
  • Crew neck
  • 100% cotton
  • Machine wash

Style Notes:ย

This tee is very in-line with the overall black and red color theme of this outfit. Their is a swordfish print on the front and gothic lettering on the backside of the shirt.

Missoni | Swim Shorts

  • Elasticated drawstring waistband, two front slash pockets, back Velcroยฎ-fastening flap pocket, designer emblem, internal mesh briefs

Style Notes:ย

These swim trunks have a cool abstract pattern going on with muted colors that are perfect for the end of summer and beginning of fall seasons.

Givenchy | Slides

  • Black, red and white rubber
  • Embossed designer emblems, rubber soles
  • Come with dust bag
  • Made in Italy

Style Notes:ย

These iconic slides from Givenchy with the bright red accent stripe are definitely a bold option and will indubitably prevent you from fading into the background.
